These three Rhone Valley varieties have a strong heritage in the Yarra Valley and our two rows of each consistently yield beautiful fruit.
The combination of the three varieties builds a wine with lifted honeysuckle and white flower perfume, fine acidity, great texture and length. The overall effect is a savoury wine that is ideal with a range of food types.
2019 was an excellent vintage in the Yarra Valley. A slightly warmer season characterised by intermittent heat spikes followed by cool changes. February started with cooler conditions, a subsequent week of warmer weather accelerated ripening and frantic picking ensued. The fruit was in excellent condition at harvest. Yields were 7 tonnes per hectare and 11.8 baume. The fruit was harvested in excellent condition, and the resulting wine is a delight.
North facing vineyard, good air flow and exposure to sunlight. Steep slopes and a clay loam soil provide excellent site drainage.
