The wine represents the essence of TarraWarra Chardonnay. Harvested between 11.8 and 12.4 baume, the wine was naturally fermented in both barrel and tank. Aromas of grapefruit and lemon zest with underlying notes of cashew nuts. The tight palate reflects the season, with texture derived from 10 months on lees and a lovely drive with persistence of flavour. With oak and tank maturation, the wine shows an elegant complexity with appealing freshness.

2019 was an excellent vintage in the Yarra Valley. A slightly warmer season characterised by intermittent heat spikes followed by cool changes. February started with cooler conditions, a subsequent week of warmer weather accelerated ripening and frantic picking ensued. The fruit was in excellent condition at harvest. Yields were 8 tonnes per hectare. Careful vineyard management gives the fruit the qualities that are a hallmark of TarraWarra Estate Chardonnay.

Fruit for the Estate wine was sourced seven sites from 18-35 year-old vines across the property. The TarraWarra Estate vineyard has a northerly aspect across high sloping hill-sides, which provides good drainage and air circulation.
