This will be our last Nebbiolo until we make and release the 2021 as the block was replanted due to Phylloxera after this vintage. The wine has the typical rose and smoked meat aromas, the finely- fruited palate driven home by a tannin grip. It needs time in the glass or decanting to reveal itself and will benefit from time in the cellar.
2017 was a cooler summer in the Yarra Valley, however March produced the highest monthly mean temperature on record, giving perfect conditions for our later ripening varieties. Grapes were harvested 3 weeks later than 2016, with ideal ripeness and flavour balance../p>
A long north-west facing block with clay loam soils. The block has long produced red varieties with full flavour and a firm tannin structure. The northerly aspect allows for ideal conditions for this late- ripening variety.
